Buffalo Man and Two Others Charged After Fatal Shooting and Gun Tossing Incident

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A Buffalo man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing a guy with an illegal gun on the city’s west side.

Edward Harwell, 38, is charged with second-degree murder for an alleged shooting on Bird Avenue on August 3, 2024.

Harwell allegedly shot and killed 21-year-old Kabah Kabah. Following the incident, authorities observed a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect.

They followed it from Route 198 to the Kensington Expressway, through downtown Buffalo, and onto the Route 5 Skyway. Once on top of the skyway, police say they saw persons inside the suspect’s automobile throw what appeared to be firearms out the vehicle’s window.

Officers stopped the automobile near the Fuhrmann Boulevard exit and arrested Harwell. Two people were also detained.

Mekhi Harwell, 21, and a 17-year-old kid were both charged with criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the incident.
