Dallas Fatal 100 Degree Weather Finally Ends

Dallas weather: 100-degree streak finally comes to an end

Dallas weather: August 14 evening forecast
FOX 4’s Ali Turiano says we have broken our streak of 100-degree days. We take a look at our scorching start to August and how long the relief will last.

After 3 straight weeks of temperatures above 100 degrees, we expect high temperatures to finally stayed in the 90s on Monday.

An August cold front dropped the high temperature at DFW Airport to 99 degrees.

Temperatures reached 99 degrees by noon, but the front kept things from getting any hotter.

Some people in North Texas did see temperatures in the 100s.

Areas to the north stayed below the century mark, those to the south were above it.

For those who missed out on temperatures in the 90s on Monday, Tuesday should be a streak-breaker.

We have predicted the high to be 95 degrees on Tuesday, with a morning that will feel downright cool compared to what we have been seeing.

Either way, our 100-degree streak will end up being the 6th longest of all time in Dallas-Fort Worth.

The longest streak of all time was 42 days in the infamously hot summer of 1980.

This cold front comes after we set a new record high on Saturday with temperatures hitting 106. The previous high was 105 degrees in 1951.

DFW also broke a record for the longest duration above 80 degrees.

On Monday at 7 a.m. we reached 359 straight hours with temperatures at or above 80 degrees.

You lived through history! North Texas set a heat record on Monday morning.

That streak started at 8 a.m. on July 30!

The previous record was 358 straight hours in 1998.

That record started at 8 a.m. on July 18 and kept going until 6 a.m. on August 2, 1998.

7-Day Forecast

Wednesday is also expected be below the 100-degree mark, but then the oven turns right back on.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all expected to be above 105 degrees, with temperatures on Friday topping out at 108!
